Could be. I believe Cus said he must throw punches with bad intentions.

The anger I'm sure was important in his fighting but he could have learned to deal with it better when it was out of the ring. He wasn't taken care of well.

Cus trained him to be a beast in the ring and a bird trainer outside of the ring.
