In response to "Question about Boyhood: Is it a frontrunner because it's a great movie or is it a frontrunner because of its dedication to filmmaking?" by Shaun

From my perspective, it's a little bit of both, plus some Richard Linklater fandom thrown in for good measure.

I think it's a decent movie. I wasn't terribly impressed with it for its own sake, but I could see why some people (maybe a lot of people) would fall in love with it as a movie.

I am impressed with the dedication that cast and crew had to making the movie over 12 flippin' years, though.
