it is from the aspect that the game revolves around the acquisition of armor and weapons.

Borderlands had 8 billion weapon variants, which lead to hours obsessing over which gun was better than which, comparing a to b stat for stat.
I admit, I got very bored with it in the end.
Destiny at least allows me to delve into multiplayer when the missions become tedious.
