sharing a very good thing.

I work to stay positive, I know I am blessed in many and varied ways, and I do my best to focus on that; but, frankly, the last while, heck the last almost 8 years really, has had way too much suckage and lack of fun and normal for me. (“New normal” doesn’t count. ;p)

One of our own recently did one of the nicest things that anyone has ever done for me, ever.

JD posted something or other about this some months ago; but, for those who missed, he and I became off-board friends last year (we are friends -- no gossip applicable, please and thank you), and we’ve met-up a few times when he’s been in the Bay Area to visit his parents.

Last October, he surprised me with tickets to see my biggest musical crush last year (Hozier in case you haven’t been following along with my many, many mentions). He called to make sure that we would have disabled-accessible seats instead of being squished or having to stand (I simply couldn’t do that for very long, let alone hours); and he called to make sure he could drop me off and pick me up instead of my having to walk far.

The concert was Tuesday night, and it was just great -- so.very.good and so.much.fun. :D We’ve shared our extra strong music appreciation with each other over the months*; and one of the reasons he wanted to go was to share his love of live music with me, as I haven’t been to anything since before the big accident. If any of you have a chance to go to a live music event with him, totally do it – he is so knowledgeable about them, he’s extra terrific company. :D

He made something that I feared I couldn't even do at all totally easy and enjoyable, and it reminded me of what it’s like to be normal and just plain happy for a while (especially striking as it was smack dab in the middle of some ongoing and fresh family stress and drama, oy). Not to mention he drove up from Southern California just for the concert, as it turned out his parents were down there this week, oops. Who does that?! JD does that.

Thanks again, man, you rock! :D (And so did Hozier – see link. :D)

(*JD also gifted me my first three months of Spotify last year, just because he wanted to share playlists better -- as proven by just how many times I have mentioned the service here, it really changed/improved my already lotsa-music life. I cannot thank him enough for that, either!)
