while insurance may have been another perk, it was my social security contributions that were the thing.

I think we made our pact after the first time statements about that were sent. unless you have a spouse or dependent child, it goes to the government. I objected then (even though kids weren't ruled out at the time, as they most unfortunately are now unless something script-worthy happens) and still do!
