We've had intermittent water issues (not groiny level) on and off since we've owned the house in our basement since we've moved in, because of the weird slope of our lot and neighbouring lots, plus we've got lots of concrete that's not letting things drain properly. As well, our driveway is total shit and slowly getting freeze-thawed into dust. Our initial plan was just to replace the driveway and put in a sump, but our contractor feels that wouldn't really solve things to any confidence unless we rip apart the whole (partially finished) basement to see and remediate mold (which we know is there to some extent since we've pulled apart some walls) and put in a weeping tile system. That actually was on our list of things to do at some point since the space is not all that functional, but as an all-at-once thing it's going to be quite the undertaking. We've got a lot of stuff to pull out and store somehow, and then we're homeless for about a week during the remediation (and hopefully the cats can live in a closed off part of the house, otherwise they've got to be boarded). We're hoping to schedule half of this over our Disneyland trip since we're already paying for hotels that week, but we're still going to be trying this with both of us working and getting two kids to daycare somehow. Any more stress we can pile on this?
