then click on each icon of the ships. It'll give you a breakdown of the O/D power of each as well as some other stats, minimum level of shipyard to build, optimal shipyard level to build (the higher the shipyard level for example the faster a unit builds). it'll also list it's "Special Ability" or attribute, whether it's O/D or N.
Notice the cost of upkeep. There are 3 units of D for example, each progressively more powerful but with a corresponding cost which gets higher the more powerful the unit. So...you get a Mortar ship which is the most powerful defensive unit but it's Upkeep (i.e. cost) is the highest.
The same convention applies to the land units the details of which you can find the same way at your barracks.
