i never can remember . .. which is the 'bd' cholesterol, LDL or HDL? is it LDL?

i really should go get mine checked again. it's been a couple of years, and I do have a family history of heart disease. but i've been taking cholesterol pills (when I don't forget to take one on a given day) . . . still, I love me some fast food stuff, and maybe I do need to alter my diet (neverminding the LDL / HDL thing, I just need to lose some weight) . . .
anyway, maybe I should have led all of this off with a "LYC" thing . . .
