That sounds crappy. However, people also thinking staying in the hospital longer is a good thing. It isn't. You want to leave as fast as you can.

Hospital are extremely dirty. The longer you stay the better your odds of catching some resistant bug.

But sounds like there was a lot of miscommunication which is unfortunate and good that someone will look into it.
