I'm pretty sure her dad was a spy (diplomat indeed), and I always joke that she's a sleeper agent. she just smiles, and never denies it.

her dad's Cuban, mom Ukranian. they got off the plane between Kiev and Havana at a refuelling stop in Gander in about 1990, and never got back on.
