My flight were all booked through American (Japan Airlines is one of their partners) so when I reach Tokyo headed to Bangkok, the Tokyo-Bangkok leg was actually operate by Japan Airlines (just with an AA flight number). I was exhausted at this point because I actually hadn't slept on LAX-Tokyo so I feel asleep immediately. At one point I woke up to find a sticker attached to the seatback in front of me letting me know that if I woke up and needed anything that I should not hesitate to ring my call button. (Side note: I was still so groggy as we were landing that when I filled out my immigration form, I wrote that my hotel was in Bangcock. Something looked wrong about the spelling but I couldn't figure it out and didn't until the next day. oops)
So on the way back, my flight Bangkok - Tokyo was again JAL, meant to connect to AA. But that didn't happen due to the delay. So JAL rebooked me on their nonstop from Tokyo to JFK (with 15 minutes to clear security and make the connection!). That flight was 11+ hours so they served a full meal early in the flight, likely a snack in the middle (I slept through that part) and then a light meal 90 minutes prior to landing. The light snack was, no joke, a Mos Burger. (Hi Qale!)
