when I schedule an elopement I always say my 'office' is just a family room with a desk, not a wedding chapel and we have room for 6 maybe 8 people.
anyway, this family showed up 30-40 Minutes early (what happens when you go to a restaurant half an hour before they are ready to open the doors?) and the groom was 10-15m late (he forgot the license.
I did come out to greet and always say, hi, I'm allen, is everybody here? they said no, so I suggested that they go visit the starbucks while waiting for their others. they said htey would wait and i replied ok when your ready come on in. so after awhile they do come in. its winter time there is no garden, I do not have facilities, no waiting rooms, no child care materials.
and their f'n 4 yo kept making a bee line for the basement stairs.
anyway, for my wednesday elopement special I charge only $50 and for most of my clients know its an alternative to a courtroom/judges chamber. and half the cost $85 and parking a block away in the garage.
