my oldest sister: "so I bought everything for corned beef and cabbage. will you make it at your house?"
that's a lot to ask of anyone, let alone someone who can't physically stand-up and prep or cook for long (and unfortunately, it's especially bad of late), and who hasn't eaten beef in ~25 years. that lingering meaty smell alone, oof. :/
I told her to try to find someone else. I don't want to waste food, esp. animal products; but ugh.
note: she can't cook it herself right now or have me do it at her house.

Yeah, she should realize that cooking it at your place is not ideal :( -- nm

As 95%(+) Irish, I'd never actually had corned beef and cabbage until last year

I don't mind corned beef, when other people make it. one of my camp cooks was a wizard with it. -- nm

This is, by far, the best way I've ever made corned beef. -- (link)
