Fancy big money Avery Markum trying to woo the town and then being out-talked by the Harlan local was very reminiscent of Mags Bennett at the town meeting with Black Pike when they were trying buy up the town in season 1 or 2.
Though I thought it was weird that the crowd basically turned on Markum but then hung around for the party as if the brief kerfluffle didn't happen.
