That we've talked before about on ST.
Facts are conclusions based on interpretation of data. Facts are later disproven all the time.
Just because a statement is a fact, does not necessarily mean it is true. Just become something is published in a peer-reviewed research document, does not mean it is true.
Facts grow up to become Theories, which grow up to become Laws. Newton's Law of Gravity, or the Laws of Thermodynamics for example.
