sometimes bleak can be good, but that's something you have to be prepared for, you know? and be in the right mood for.

top of the lake is a sundance miniseries. murder, child molestation, mystery, family drama. bleak, but somehow less so than broadchurch. maybe it's the setting? I watched it on NF over the past week. seven episodes.

your favorite tv critic andy g named it the best show of 2013. (grantland.com)
