loves it when I'm already holding a cheap stock that hits major news and then jumps 5,6, 7 or more dollars a share on that other site . . .

was just checking in on my port and saw that Robotech is up over $7 right now on the news that rights are being secured and it's looking more and more like the movie will be a reality.
an article linked on the site suggests that there is potential for franchise . . . meaning possibly many movies.
i'm personally excited for this. though, admittedly, i'm not terribly familiar with Robotech. I saw some of the original shows on tv back in the early 80s . . . the Macross Saga comes to mind for some reason (was this the first series or something?) I just remember an episode where "the enemy" ship was coming in, and our ship, loaded with Gundams (?) was at the ready, and it punches it's way into the enemy ship, this door opens, and all of the good guy robots barnstorm the fuck out of the ship shooting in missiles and what not, then pull away right before the ship blows up . . .
I also remember the show as being a little moody and atmospheric, in a strangely sad but also good way. maybe it was just my childhood. anyway, I think that with current movie technology and special effects, done right, this movie could be totally awesome mc-awesomeness. and I want to see it on the big screen . . .
