ok, so if almost everything previously written is now on the out, has anyone ever discussed what becomes of some of the Han Solo material (like Han Solo at Star's End) where we get some back story on the character? also, it was understood in the early days after New Hope that, largely through non-movie sources, Han had been in the emperial acadamy or some such at one time and almost would have been an Emperial officer had some things not gone afoul. so, is that out now?
also, something that bothers me, in regards to Anakin on the verge of becoming Vader and Obi Wan . . . i remember learning long ago that there was 'back story' stuff that alluded to the eventual conflct between anakin and kenobi, that it led to a fight on a 'lava planet', and that Kenobi basically left him for dead, whereupon the Emperor swooped in and rescued his new apprentice. for a long time, that was canon material not in the movies. obvie, it was eventually addressed in Episode 3 and because standard canon of the history.
doesn't that set precedent to allow other materials to remain in canon?
