I don't get this issue with means of communication, some old folks would be offended if the message wasn't inscribed on a clay tablet or written on...

Text is as direct a message as a telegram, with a bit of cushion of separation that some might fell needed.
We are not talking about a notice of divorce (remember brittany spears sent K'fed a text telling him they were done...which he received while he was on some talk show, so we got that LIVE...well most us got to see it later on youtube....
