short (er, looking down, not really - it is me, after all) shameful shoe confession:
after having them on for 12 hours yesterday, including work and a meeting where not one but two male coworkers were on their knees near my feet (trying to find ground-based electrical outlets that worked), I discovered before I left work last night that I was wearing two different colored sandals. one dark tan, one black. (same style, at least?!)
90+% of days, I put my chosen shoes together in my bedroom doorway before putting them on - yesterday, I was in a hurry; so I didn't do that.
90+ % of days, ever since an unfortunate happening 20+ years ago, when I step outside to nab my newspaper, I look down to check that I'm wearing a matched set (and pants or skirt, heh); but there was an amazon delivery that distracted me from that task.
I needed to go to CVS yesterday to use an expiring ECB - I didn't have time to go home and change a sandal; so, yep, went shopping with the two unmatched. ay, b.!
