I mean, why try to sign someone who's not *that* good, and then fire-sale afterwards.

how does that not leave a bitter taste in his mouth if they didn't at least mention the, "Oh yeah, you're going to be on a worse team than the Orioles were in the last 2000's after our tear-down."
