I would really like to see a wider frame before I blame Pearce.

I mean. it's a situation where he shouldn't have been running. But the O's 3B coach seems to be one of the more aggressive ones in terms of sending runners. That shouldn't really extend to trying to have Pearce score from first.
But the Rays catcher just stood there straddling the area right in front of the plate, didn't go toward Pearce at all. Just left a big gap for Pearce to slide his leg through and score.
