Not sure why the snark, but people use rain from them like reclaimed water, for gardens and stuff -- (link)

I grew up drinking rainwater of the tin roof but this would be right out by the driveway and I suspect the HOA wouldn't go for it.

Heh, at least it will drain down into the shrubbery. Other people have an extension that sends it out over the driveway and it drains into the street. -- nm
