I was thinking the alley is a bad example in the video, and agree the guy saying sketchy isn't really wrong. For me, sketch really has to do with neighborhoods. Roger More got it right when he mentioned euphemisms, and I have no doubt people use "sketchy" euphemistically. There are so many neighborhoods that some consider "sketchy" but others consider just a neighborhood. These neighborhoods are pretty much always predominantly black or Latino.
