if it wasn't warantee why on earth would you call a Sears tech guy? I bet someone else could fix it for a fraction of that cost

it's just been my experience in the past of course - knowing people that "know fix it stuff" - still using the whirlpool washer & dryer my mom bought for the house I grew up in some 25 years later - had dryer repaired once and washer repaired once
