Coulson isn't mentioned in AoU. But Maria Hill who works for Stark knows Coulson is alive and will be appearing in AoS in the last few episodes. And Fury knows he is alive im sure they would know that he is still alive running some form of shield. Of course you have most of Shield who think Fury is dead.
