I'm not sure if it's something given to him at the vet, or if being there and extra stressed with that exacerbated his breathing issue (I could hear it over the phone, in the background, and it was awful); but, thankfully, his imminent demise isn't so imminent at present. he walked around and checked that everyone was here (he's such a good big brother), ate and drank some, and snoozed a while. he's periodically shown some symptoms, but then he's ok for a good while. he doesn't want anyone sleeping with him, so he will go walk around a bit then he'll return to a favorite nest that's just his size and that's on an end table. some of the other kitties have periodically come to check on him, aww.
the vet gave some syringes with oral pain medicine to give if he starts to struggle. hopefully it will be a while, but no telling. really wish I lived closer. :/
