I don't think it would suck without fighting, and they could get rid of it if they really wanted, but they don't.

that and there are things that may technically be within the rules that shouldn't be done, and as long as you allow the kind of hits the nhl has, the fighters serve to enforce a little bit of that. international hockey is essentially the European game, which is less physical. which is fine, but different.
