someone (who was totally cast for looking like olivia wilde, only with a no-makeup look) working with him in DC kissed him, after he called her into the lab at 1am because he discovered a breakthrough on her pet project about which she had been feeling down. they exchanged a meaningful look, then he said they should go. she grabbed his hand and said "do we have to?" or the like, then she kissed him. he kissed back for a second, then pulled away and said he couldn't do it, that he's married and loves his wife. he immediately flew to seattle, even leaving his phone and keys behind (solely to allow mere to call him and have the coworker answer and then not respond when mere repeatedly asked who she was and then hang-up, because that's normal).
the ep ended with him being mcdreamy-esque about his feelings for mere, saying he couldn't live without her; and her telling him she realized she could live without him but didn't want to.
*of course,* they couldn't let them be happy for long. *dramatic sigh* ;p
