cobbled together hodge podge hybrid of several different doors. the home inspector noted that it was unsafe/not secure and advised me to replace.

I asked the sellers to replace, and they said "how about we give you $250 and you deal with it?"

on the one hand, custom door is $$. on the other, have you seen how safe my neighborhood is? I could wait and do it whenever.

also, it was proposed to me that eventually I build a cold-break at the top of the basement stairs, so really this would matter very little in that event.

so like, "say yes and buy a house"? or "push back"?
