When I lived in Brooklyn I didn't have this problem but here in Queens I live on the noisiest block eve with every large truck imaginable driving passed my apartment.
My gf sleeps through it all. I'm too light of a sleeper and get woken up quite easily.
Oh, and then there's the construction going on a block away that I can hear them driving the pylons with that massive machine used to bang them down.
I hate this block and neighborhood so much.
