It's funny because it's true. At least in my opinion.

I mean, you know me -- my ideology is pretty much bouncing around centrist. My ideology has overlapped with his policy efforts much, much more than my ideology has overlapped with my own boss -- one of the Top Ten Progressives in Congress.
President Obama is right in line with the farm belt Republicanism of my youth. He's much more in line with the policies of Nixon and Reagan than he is with Carter, Clinton, Johnson, or Kennedy.
And pretty much any political analyst worth his or her salt would agree.
