A simple example is that I have my weather forecast texted to me at 7am every morning. Or you could just have it do it when rain/snow is in the forecast.
But I also use it to push stuff from my RSS reader to Pocket. And to push my Instagram photos to Facebook. And save those photos to Dropbox.
But there are a ton of services that support it and it automates a lot of stuff that you wish could be automated across services.
