But if I get half credit for doing nothing....I only need to have a 70% on another assignment to get back to passing.

So, I did only half the work, and accomplised 70% of doing that correctly but I pass.
That's deeply flawed.
No work = Zero. That's simple. Anything else is trying to game a system; it's just a matter of figuring out what is being gamed.
I'd imagine schol funding is based on grades and advancement so in my simple example, I just jumped 25% by this alteration.
It seems like an anti-solution in search of a lower standard.
