In response to "From B2 for Berry: Coincidence: I just got an e-mail for a webinar next week on A/B testing...." by Walt_Disney

I've been thinking of applying it to something ST-related.

I want to make a recruitment landing page that isn't blocked by the robots.txt file (so search engines can pick it up). Something that explains what we're about and encourages people to try joining in.

If I were to apply A/B testing to that, I think I would end up making two versions of the page and tuning it to see which one gets better interaction and follow-through. (Sometimes people might scroll more/read more/be more interested, without fully committing to a signup process, so it would be useful to try and gauge which of the two versions creates more of that interest).

Then it would just be a matter of selecting how to funnel users to each version. I could do that a couple ways, like advertising one on twitter versus one on facebook, or I could do it on the server level by having it randomly flip a coin for each new page load.
