I watched it there the other day and that's what struck me most. Like if I saw a film in the year 2000 that was made in 1988, you could really tell that it was made in the 80s. With POTC 1, it still looks like it was made yesterday.
I don't know if it was technical wizardry, or else that the rate of technical advancement in film making occurred at a much faster rate in the 90s compared to now. Either way, it's impressive.
