Come visit the WTC and have a nice moment of remembrance before picking up your $175 polo shirt. -- (link)

I hate this fucking gift shop. Also, not a dollar goes to a charity.

*technically* the merch is advertising the current building, right? like buying an Empire State Bldg hat or something? -- nm

Do you have a problem, though, with someone buying Empire State Building merch? Or did you have an issue with the old WTC merch?

I have no problem with the sale of gift items as long as they're reasonable to the place. My issue is two fold with the WTC.

oh i get it, but, it isn't *quite* the same as selling "ground zero water bottles" or something equally gross. -- nm

Not exactly the same but close enough that it's wrong. I get selling some trinkets for people to take as a remembrance of their visit.

Yup. He was fired and the owner of the cart was hit with three tickets so far. He also posted a sign now saying hot dogs are $2.50. -- nm

Apparently you can. It's $35 to start with and goes up if you want to take a piece of the grief home with you. -- (edited)
