Waiting it out was definitely the right call. There was a lull at about 3am and many risked it then, but man did it come roaring right back.

I left the store just as it was opening, 6AM. Took only surface streets. There were two bridges I was worried about, both were *this* close to overflowing.
The biggest danger driving by the time I tried it were dodging debris, stalled abandoned cars, and pretty much every traffic light was flashing or out.
My apartment is fine. It doesn't appear to have had even come close to doing damage. I was concerned because I'd seen on flood plain maps 100 year and I mean you never know when that 100 year is.
I feel part lucky, and part happy that I heeded warnings like I knew I ought to. I have to say, this is another reason for me to not like this city though. Just saying.
