What I'm not seeing in that article is whether there were governments and contractors who donated and did *not* receive contracts. Or if it was

always the largest donor that got the contract.
That's kind of important and is the difference between the kind of stuff that has and always will happen when there are governments and there is money, and direct quid pro quo.
And increased weapons deals are what one would expect when we are ostensibly at war but trying very hard not to put our soldiers on the front lines.
And none of this is to say I particularly like the hand-in-glove nature of business and government.
