that's baffling. is it related to auto-renewals?

for no auto-renewals, walgreens just goes by the number of renewals and their last date. with my mom having had hospital stays and several months in subacute/rehab, and being given leftovers upon discharge from the latter, she had lots of some medications. no issues at all when it came time to refill, as long as the prescriptions were in date.
