she had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital yesterday and was admitted.
she says her good knee/leg somehow gave out and she slipped. unlike a couple of weeks ago, though, she was able to get herself up (which makes me think she didn't actually go down down). she walked around after that, but then things turned very bad.
x-ray and ct don't show a fracture, although there are other signs (pain plus blisters, like she had with a fracture last year) - I'm concerned the ct isn't showing anything because of her fake knee, but time will tell. with swelling/bruising, she can't go straight home; so into sub-acute care she will go. (reminder: she was there for 8 months from a year ago until january. a return so soon is extra very sucky. :/)
she says she had/continues to have the worst pain she's ever had, which is saying something for a woman who gave birth several times, has had bad arthritis for years, has had multiple ortho. and other surgeries. poor Mom. :/
please send good thoughts to her, with focus on easing her pain and giving her strength to deal? thank you.
