In response to "okay - worst place you were ever broken-up with in/at ?" by Andie

really, the answer for me is nowhere.

sudden and unexpected silence, no return calls or messages for an extended period or longer. (I remember greg behrendt in his "he's just not that into you" acknowledging it really is the worst.)

up there with the worst worst? sharing with someone you trust that it's just about the worst thing they can do to you (hello, abandonment issues) and having them do it anyway.

otoh, those experiences turned out to have helped me with a current ongoing coworker situation. my closest coworker (the one who I mentioned I liked a lot but who talked to me way way too much) of the past almost six years (so my current job) has spoken to me only one brief time period (the day I fell at work) in the past 6 weeks. our mutual boss (now retired, lucky him) caused most of what prompted this and apparently made it worse when I made him try to fix it.

in the past, I would have reached out to attempt to make things better; but she threw away what we had, based on something she never discussed with me, based on the boss's temporary dumbness. I'm worth more than that. (she has also done some things to attempt to make me look bad - if that continues, I will, of course, not let it stand.)
