for us, it's a keys-to-the-castle thing - windows, outlook, bunch of single-sign-on sites.

that's part of my concern. I have access to some info./potential info. that isn't meant for just anyone, so limiting exposure is extra important.
I presume it's needed to make sure everything is set-up properly and works. I remember giving it in the past, just ahead of a switch (and I'd change it to something neutral right then, then change it back asap, which is a couple-or-few days for us). 2 weeks out there would make me twitchy.
