oops, for those hangers, you could probably use them, laying the necklaces flat, padding with sheets of bubble wrap in layers - the key would be

not having the boxes tilt too much; but, if in layers, risk of tangling is limited to a layer.
(I have mostly chains - when I traveled more/with them, I used a jewelry pouch with little pockets or a divided plastic case.)
