I never rooted for that guy. He sucks, makes bad decisions and does terrible things to people close to him. He's the puppet for a religious zealot and he is awful. Just because he isn't like Joffrey or Ramsay it doesn't mean he isn't terrible. Stannis actually knows better and isn't insane but doesn't give a shit about doing the right thing because he only wants the Iron Throne. So he'll probably succeed because people who do the right thing in this world always end up dying for it.
