background info) on everyone in the sorority (there are over 150 in the sorority) and would be quizzed on it and yelled at and berated if they got answers wrong. She had to spend from 7-10 pm every night at the sorority just sitting in a room, theoretically learning this stuff. Keeping up with school work was really difficult because they weren't allowed to do it during that time. They weren't allowed to do any socializing either. Couldn't go to any parties or be seen out and about during their pledge period. She was pretty much miserable.
