I strongly suspect that Snow's parentage is going to drive the action at the end of Game of Throws. That's precisely why I'm asking
From a financial perspective, they're better served not tying it off. Then, they can do another few seasons down the line. In terms of the current story, however, I think it's problematic if she's as crucial as people suspect, but that situation is never demonstrated.
Harry Potter's Snape reveal isn't quite the equivalent since they'd done flashbacks previously, but it's that kind of situation.
