("The South" needs to embrace it's humanity, admit their shameful history and apologize) is impossible.

We have millions of people here living in the South who descended from other parts of the World who have nothing to do with what happened in the Civil War.

We have millions of people living in other parts of our Country, who descended from the South ~150 years ago.

I completely agree with your IM.
