I'm completely serious on this one.

I would put forth that it is not that being successful drives people to fly but being successful provides the means to fly

I would totally fly if I could afford it. I know the risks as well as anyone (I've got a part of double major to show that I paid to learn the risks *wink*) but I would so totally do it.

If I could barely afford to fly and thus subjecting myself to the most risk (smallest, oldest planes). I'd still totally do it

I'm guessing that it is inexplicable to you but for some of us....you get to fly!
