you know, i really like Phil Collins solo music (especially the earlier stuff), and I love Genesis' music, but . . .

there's definitely a very different feel between what they all did separately in solo projects (I do like some of Mike Rutherford's stuff with "Mike and the Mechanics" for example, though Tony Banks' solo stuff really fell short . . . he was better suited as part of an ensemble and not a solo artist) and what they did together as a group. and i'll say that I even like some of Peter Gabriel's solo work, but in the early years when he was with Genesis, he was a total nutjob on the performance stuff. I think that, while some of the early stuff was good, Genesis benefited greatly in the long run without Peter . . .
